Sara & Martin | Lifestyle Session | Paris

"La vie est une fleur dont l’amour est le miel.""

"Life is a flower of which love is the honey"

- Victor Hugo

What should be said about Paris that hasn't been said before? The city of love, cheese, and wine. Of all the travels I’ve been on, my trips to Paris are the most memorable. Two years ago, I packed a small bag along with my camera and took a trip to Ireland, London, and Paris. Today, I’ll mainly focus on the latter.

Of all the places I’ve travelled, Paris is my favorite and most memorable. The first time I went there, I went to get away. The second, just a little over a year later, with my husband, was part of a short honeymoon trip. And what better place for a honeymoon than Paris!

But this post isn’t about me, maybe I’ll write about that another time. This is about the beautiful couple we met out there. As a photographer, it’s always been a goal of mine to do a session with a beautiful couple and the Eiffel Tower in the background.

Meet, Sara and Martin.

I reached out to Sara through Instagram wondering if she’d entertain my request, we scheduled the session on September 14, 2018. At this point, Sara had been living in Paris for about 3 and a half years. We decided on meeting at 7am, which was perfect considering how early most landmarks get filled with couples and tourists wanting to capture their special moment.

We were set to meet a café within walking distance to the tower, but as luck would have it, they only took cash, which we didn’t have on us. Yes, Paris still has places that don’t accept credit cards, in fact this seems to be a theme amongst small shops. Luckily, we didn’t need the coffee, the morning chill and beautiful scenery was enough to keep us awake!

Sara started taking French since Pre-kindergarten and was obsessed with everything French and Parisian from a very young age. It was always a dream of hers to live in Paris, and finally got the opportunity to live it a few years ago. She started her experience in Paris as an au pair for a French family. For those too lazy to look up what an “Au Pair” is, an au pair is a domestic assistant from a foreign country working for, and living as part of, a host family. She spent that year teaching English to the 3 girls, then went on to pursue her Master’s. Currently Sara works in media relations for a company in Paris.

Sara and Martin met in July of 2017 at a wedding. Martin was the best man to his childhood friend, who was getting married to one of Sara’s really good friends. After dancing together all night at the wedding, they have been inseparable since.

I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.
